I have been away from working on websites. My other work has me diving into data, so I spend more than enough time in front of computers. When I finish work, the last thing I want to do is spend more time at a computer.
We have also bought a bach (holiday home), so there have been trips between there and our home, carrying lots of stuff that we want to have here (I am at bach, at the moment). We have had to install a water filtration system, cut back trees, replace kitchen taps, etc.
I am trying to motivate myself to get back into this. Another issue, honestly, is discouragement at the apathy in our world. Of course, this should motivate me more, but sometimes it doesn’t. We are killing billions, stuffing our mouths with their pain and death. We are stripping the forests and oceans for short-sighted purposes. It sometimes all feels like too much.
Add to this a massive amount of hypocricy in some advocacy efforts, which I won’t yet discuss here. One of the issues with opening your heart is that you see so so much. You have to find a way to use these insights to inspire, rather than discourage.
So, I need to renew my focus for positive change in the world and working on Therapy Aroha is part of that focus. Perhaps a few minutes to start - which will be affected by the coming six weeks of needed holidays.
Thinking of all of the being suffering, for which we are responsible. Change in our world won’t happen because of politics. Change in our world won’t happen because of external rules. Positive change in our world will only happen when we renew our hearts - when we open ourselves to compassion and create a better world than the one we know. While others are suffering, especially at our hands, we will be wallowing in our own sorrows.
Let’s create a better world together, starting with ourselves!
May all beings know peace!
